“Canopy + Connection” at Maple Leaf Square

For The Residences at Maple Leaf Square, Lanterra Developments contacted UnitedVisualArtists to create two unique installations for this epic project. The amazing result was Canopy+Connection, two massive interactive modules of light and colour.

For Canopy, UVA was interested in creating a canopy of light, similar to walking through a forest with the sun coming through the trees. It was decided that they would use the maple leaf, for obvious reasons, as well as for its unique geometric form. Designed to be enjoyed during the day and night, Canopy is ever-changing and responds to audience interaction.

For Connection, UVA wanted to created an immersive environment. People walking through the bridge trigger a display of light which alters the colours, completely changing the mood of the space.
